Woodcut art burned onto wood
![]()
Much of the art we are using on these boards is the work of 19th century woodcut artists. Woodcuts were a way of mass producing art in print by pressing carved blocks of wood into ink and then onto paper like a stamp. Their work was used widely to illustrate books and magazines before the age of digital art. In our brave new world of AI and plastic many of us yearn for a return to the authenticity of years past like 1984.

The art that was once mass produced using wheels, pulleys, and wood blocks pressing ink to cheap pulp is now burned with lasers onto handmade hardwood boards that will last more than a lifetime. We hope others will share our appreciation for these artists and our love of board gaming.
